La Casa de Los Alaskianos Perdidos
(the house of the lost Alaskans)

The House of the Lost Alaskans is located in a private gated community in the picturesque village of Los Barriles, on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, just 50 minutes north of the international airport of San Jose del Cabo.

The lot offers more than 100 feet of prime beachfront  (1/2 acre) overlooking the wide white sandy beach bluff and the calm beautiful blue waters of the Sea of Cortes.   The house is nestled in the Bahia Las Palmas  where the waters are crystal clear.

Jacques Cousteau and innumerable underwater adventurers have described the Sea of Cortes as "The World’s Richest Sea". This is especially true of the waters that caress the southern tip of the Baja. The diversity in fish and marine mammals that congregate here is unmatched anywhere else in the earth’s undersea domain.  This obviously leads to the area being one of the world's best location destinations for sport fishing.

Los Barriles is very unique with the preferred mode of transportation being ATVs or quads, both on and off the streets.  You will find that most will  go out to a restaurant and everyone one arrives on their own quad.   During the winter months the climate is perfect and the town is alive with activity.  The trade winds attract wind surfers and kite boards from around the world.

The house was built in 2003 by a master builder with 40+ years experience in Alaska, Arizona and Las Vegas
for himself using only the highest quality materials.  This one piece concrete structure was built and insulated using the Tri-D Panel system from the USA.  It was designed to be handicap friendly with 3 foot wide doors, maximum 3.5 inch steps, raised handicap toilets, and wide showers.
